The Difference is a Great Relationship

ABOUT ME

I was raised in the small town of Strathmore, Alberta. After graduating from high school, I went on to attend the University of Lethbridge where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Economics. I spent a lot of time in Lethbridge playing and watching hockey. I was fortunate enough to meet my husband, Jason Cragg, when we were assigned to the same university recreational ice hockey and floor hockey team.

Next, I moved on to the University of Calgary where I received my Bachelor of Laws degree. I worked for the City of Calgary for three years during that same period of time. My husband I were dedicated season ticket holders for the Calgary Hitmen and loved to travel to away games and play hockey with the Junior Hockey Junkies gang.

After law school, Jason and I knew we wanted to relocate to a smaller city and Red Deer was our first choice. We moved to Red Deer in 2009 and I immediately started working at a Law Firm in Red Deer.  While working at that law firm, I had the privilege of acting as one of the solicitors for the City of Red Deer and other Central Alberta municipalities. I was able to gain valuable knowledge and experience in the area of Municipal Law which has carried over to my real estate practice, particularly with respect to secondary suites, development permits, real property reports and municipal compliance.

In February 2013 I proudly opened my own law practice.  My official company name is Jennifer L. Cragg Professional Corporation, but I operate under the trade names JD LAW or JCRAGG LAW.  My main practice area is real estate law while I also assist clients with their corporate and estate needs.

On a more personal note, when I am not pursing my passion in Real Estate Law, I still enjoy playing and watching hockey. I have played on several local women’s hockey teams in Central Alberta as well as a few tournament teams that have participated in tournaments throughout Alberta and British Columbia. Jason and I have both season ticket holders for the Red Deer Rebels and share the common goal of seeing a game in every WHL building. So far we have watched a game in 13 of the 22 buildings. In the off-season I have played softball and ball hockey. Before starting in hockey, I also competitively figure skated for five years. Jason and I have also both sat on the Board of Directors for COSMOS where I held the position of Vice President and President.
